Clean Shaven Rule

The issues surrounding the rule which currently requires boxers to be facially clean shaven, is much too important to the sport of amateur boxing in Wales, and to boxers of all faiths and none, for a decision on the rule to be made, and a comprehensive statement to be released, simply to meet the timeline needs of the Press. Whether or not the clean shaven rule is discriminatory in law, and the impact upon the sporting integrity of amateur boxing from the abandonment of the current rule, will be carefully considered and decided upon by the members and Board of the Welsh Amateur Boxing Association at meetings to be held during July 2019. Only once a decision has been made, will any further statement be released to the Press.
